Ben Lake

MSc Candidate - Chemical Biology

I am pursuing an MSc specializing in Chemical Biology. My research involves synthesizing and testing bifunctional covalent dimerizers capable of bringing immunological machinery to cancer cells. When I am not in the lab, I enjoy travelling, hiking, weightlifting, binge watching Netflix series, and eating donuts.

Samm Reynolds

4th Year Undergraduate - Chemical Biology Co-op Program

I am a fourth year undergraduate student studying Chemical Biology in the Co-op stream. I am currently working to develop a general platform to study the reaction rates of different ligand directed affinity labelling chemistries using a peptide coiled-coil model system. Outside of the lab you can find me working towards converting an old school bus into a tiny home to drive across Canada! My other interests include, anything outdoors, painting, reading and biking.

Nickolas Serniuck

4th Year Undergraduate - Chemical Biology Co-op Program

I am a third year undergraduate student in the Honours Chemical Biology Co-op Program. I am currently working on the design, synthesis, and testing of bifunctional covalent dimerizers capable of bringing immune machinery to cancer cells. When I’m not in the lab you can either find me playing hockey or skiing. I love to travel and have a goal to visit as many ski resorts around the world as I can.

Lilian Diaz

4th Year Undergraduate - Chemical Biology Co-op Program

I am currently a fourth year undergraduate thesis student in Honours Chemical Biology Co-Op. My research will focus on the isolation and characterization of anti-DNP antibody interactions with synthetic ligands. In my free time I love listening to music, running, eating ice cream, and visiting new Hamilton restaurants.

Alex Wang

4th Year Undergraduate - Chemical Biology Co-op Program

Alex is a third-year undergraduate co-op student in the Chemical Biology program. He is currently working on developing synthetic rigidified ligands targeting FcgammaRIIIa on human Natural Killer cells. In his spare time, Alex regularly participates in Dragon boat racing and is also a member of the Canadian National team.

Bethany Tong

4th Year Undergraduate - Chemical Biology Co-op Program

I am a fourth-year undergraduate thesis student in the Honours Chemical Biology program. My thesis is focused on developing and applying kinetic binding models to study immunomodulatory synthetic molecules. I will be focusing on models to characterize ternary complex molecular interactions and effective molarity in protein affinity labelling. In my free time, I enjoy staying active by participating in multiple intramural sports and hiking the waterfalls in Hamilton.

Eileen Huang

2nd Year Undergraduate - Bachelor of Health Sciences Program

Eileen is a second year student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program at McMaster University. At the Rullo Lab, Eileen is assisting with assay development as well as a project involving use of dimerizers for immunological responses targeted against tumours. Outside the lab, Eileen enjoys running, playing volleyball, binging TV shows, and learning how to cook.
